The power of paint - ORC week 2

Wow! Wow! Wow! I am officially a convert now. I think purple rooms can be insanely cool!!! The way this room has turned out by just the simple use of paint, is mind blowing to me. While the colors maybe cliché, the scalloped color blocking of the walls combined with the bold reddish pink trim, brings in so much whimsy and cheerfulness to the room.

The colors I used for this room are from Dutch boy paints. I used their Forever line paint in a satin finish.

Purple: Purple kiss

Trim: Artesian Plum

White: Simplified White

For the scalloped edges on the color block, I cut out a semi-circle of 4” diameter on thick paper and used it as a stencil. I drew the pattern on the wall using a purple color pencil as I didn’t want to go back and erase the pencil markings. I then took a regular paint brush and filled in the semi- circles with a thick layer of paint. It was so easy to create the scalloped edges and I think its perfect for a girl toddler room.

This color palette for the room was by my soon to be 3 year old, and it makes me ridiculously proud on how good her taste in colors is.

I am yet to paint the rainbow mural and wallpaper the accent wall in the room. But that’s on the agenda for the next two weeks!
